Now don’t get me wrong…I love Pinterest. I have a series of boards ranging from gardens to books, creative interiors to great tasting recipes. I hate knowing, however, that many people are spending more time pinning photos of gardens then they are creating such gardens for themselves. So I’m thinking of starting a new garden catchphrase: Don’t Just Pin It, PLANT It! Take it from me, the real deal is SO much more satisfying than the virtual visuals.
If you’re new to plants and gardening, know that it’s like anything else…you start one plant or one project at a time. Plant by plant, garden by garden.
Start with what you have (a perennial bed, front foundation shrubs, or pots on a deck) and add annuals! By poking in some annual plants every spring you’ll have color, color, COLOR all summer. #FlowerLove!
Don’t settle for photos of lovely veggie gardens…create one for yourself! You will not only get the satisfaction of posting shots of your garden on Instagram, you’ll get to eat what you’ve grown! #BestTastingFoodOnEarth
