I Love The Princess Anne David Austin Rose

Feb 3, 2023 | Love This!

Name:  Princess Anne Rose from David Austin

Type of Plant:  This is an English shrub rose that grows about 4 feet tall and wide, with flowers that range from dark pink to a medium pink.

Why I Love This Plant:  I love this rose because the flowers are produced in clusters. They are the round, ruffly type of flower and they are fragrant. I also love that in my garden this rose is in bloom when the peonies are flowering, and that it repeat blooms later in the summer and fall.

A Word to the Wise: I find that Princess Anne responds very well to both deadheading and pruning after the first flush of flowers. This seems to encourage more growth and the second and third flush of flowers.

I love how Princess Anne, on the left, flowers at the same time as the peonies. Peaking up behind the peonies is the peach colored Lady of Shalott rose, also from David Austin.

I love how the buds of Princess Anne are a darker rose-red before they open to a rich pink.

And I also love how this David Austin rose flowers so heavily in September and October.
